The area around Gion-Shijo Station that was adjacent across Kawaramachi Station and Kamogawa is known as a gay town. Gay bars are in Ichinocho, Shimogyo-ku, Shimizu-cho, Nabeyacho, Nakagyo-ku, Shimokorikicho as 20 stores when they say at the location.
By the way, a hut and teahouses of the kabuki performed by young boys gathered in the Azuchimomoyama era, and Miyagawacho along close Kamokawa prospered as the red-light district that "male prostitute" (boy) attended to from Kawaramachi Station.
