Sanjo Station is a station of Keihan Electric Railway in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto. The station number is KH40. I contact Sanjo-Keihan Station of Kyoto municipal subway Tozai Line, and the neighboring areas are called "Article 3 Keihan" again.
Article 3 Ohashi Station of the Kyoto Tsu Electric orbit was adjacent until 1949, too, but the company merges with Keihan Electric Railway and is unified as Sanjo Station in 1949. I separate as Kyoto Tsu Sanjo Station, and the Kyoto Tsu Line became independent in 1987, but Article 3 - Misasagi interval of the Kyoto Tsu Line becomes the abolished line, and Kyoto Tsu Sanjo Station is abolished by the opening to traffic of Kyoto municipal subway Tozai Line, too. There was not the station of the Kyoto streetcar, but is one of the important terminal stations of the Kyoto city area.
I have called out time once with "Kyoto Sanjo Station" "Article 3 Kyoto Station" to emphasize that it was a terminal station in Kyoto of Keihan Electric Railway. The example which a station name is transcribed into on the map of (1951) in 1951 and did is seen.
At first Kyoto Tsu Electric orbit (Keihan Kyoto Tsu Line.) I practiced medicine as Article 3 Ohashi Station of abolition), and Sanjo Station opened it as a terminal of the Keihan main line which went north on a dike caught in Lake Biwa running off water and Kamogawa there, and both traced the integrated process by merger of the Kyoto Tsu electricity orbit by next Keihan Electric Railway.
In addition, because a Keihan Main Line Article 5 -3 article interval was a patent line based on the orbit method of the Kyoto-shi Electric station originally and the Keihan main line borrowed the patent and opened a route, a transportation measure to emphasize the unity with the Kyoto Tsu line as opposition measures to the part power of the municipal assembly for the patent return before and after patent borrowing expiration was performed, and various policies were adopted for the continuation between Keihan main line five articles -3 articles (reference in the clause of the Keihan 60 type train about this process).
Various limitation existed for the setting of the Keihan main line home particularly because there were the proprietary rights of the site in the Kyoto-shi side that held orbit patent the location that Keihan Main Line was put in Kamogawa and the Lake Biwa channel in our station in the times above the ground, besides, from that they were not able to modify that the topography was free.
Therefore it was with the specific placement that I constructed a basic part of the bridge structure on running off water and installed a station building in the top and I projected into the Kamo River and installed the fourth line home more, and found every possible area under various limitation. In addition, a connecting line was laid between both lines because 60 type carried out direct driving between Keihan Main Line and Kyoto Tsu Line. After a through train was abolished by excellence speed of train improvement of the Keihan Main Line, I was left, but was removed in 1969. But the trace was left until the Kyoto Tsu Article 3 abolition for a long time because a connecting line was a Kyoto Tsu Line home and placement to be connected directly with.
Because our station was the starting point of the Kyoto Tsu line which connected with the terminal of the Keihan Main Line system and the Otsu area for many years, I played an important role in a transportation network in Kyoto-shi as a transfer station to the northern part of the capital city area through Article 3 Keihan Bus terminal to be next to again as a transfer station of both lines.
But, on the other hand, the route of Kyoto streetcar going by way of an authority of Article 3 does not exist, and be inserted between Gion and Shijo Kawaramachi that are downtown of the eminence in Kyoto-shi with the number of the passengers getting on and off a year because there was not the direct connection with the route network, and Gion-Shijo Station of the location to connect to the nucleus system of a streetcar and the bus, besides, always exceeds it and the part abolition of the Kyoto Tsu line with the duck east line opening of business and the subway Tozai Line opening of business is carried out and changes with Demachiyanagi and the number of that after that are the terminal of the duck east line the passengers getting on and off making a little difference.
It begins that Kyoto Tsu Electric orbit (Kyoto Tsu Line) opened Article 3 Ohashi Station (Sanjo Station) in the place of Article 3 Ohashi Higashizume.
